In what is being regarded as one of the biggest bank acquisition in US history, it was reported recently that Wells Fargo is buying out Wachovia Corp.

With almost 15,000 brokers licensed to sell various investment products, Wells Fargo is considered the third largest brokerage in the US. Its brokerage unit alone earned $1 billion profit last year.

For the 4th Quarter of 2010 as reported in its mid-January earnings call, Wells Fargo posted significant gains in its loan portfolio performance as lending has risen for some time.
